Extinction Cycle Reading Order Guide
A spoiler-aware reader path for choosing publication order, chronological order, main-series-only order, and branch reading paths across the Extinction Cycle universe.
Recommended First Read
For a first read, follow the main series from Extinction Horizon through the later original-saga books before moving into branch material. This preserves the escalation from Building 8 to the broader war, keeps Team Ghost introductions in context, and avoids turning later answers into early spoilers.
The short answer is simple: start with the main series, then use branch guides when a character, location, or era becomes interesting. The longer answer depends on whether you care more about publication order, exact chronology, a Team Ghost-focused path, or completing every connected anthology story.

Why Branch Placement Is Labeled Carefully
Some branch stories have clear internal order but do not always provide exact calendar placement against every other branch. The wiki therefore separates explicit order from inferred order. That avoids presenting a fan reconstruction as settled canon while still giving readers a practical path through the books.
