Copyright Notice Requirements

A copyright notice should identify the copyrighted work, identify the allegedly infringing material and its location with enough detail to find it, provide the complaining party's contact information, state a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the rights holder, agent, or law, state under penalty of perjury that the notice is accurate and that the sender is authorized to act, and include a physical or electronic signature.

Knowingly making a material misrepresentation in a notice or counter-notice may result in liability. The site may request missing information before acting on an incomplete notice.

Counter-Notice

A person whose material was removed may send a counter-notice to admin@extinctioncycle.com identifying the removed material and its former location, stating under penalty of perjury a good-faith belief that removal resulted from mistake or misidentification, providing their name, address, and telephone number, consenting to the jurisdiction required by 17 U.S.C. 512(g), agreeing to accept service from the original complainant, and including a physical or electronic signature.

Where the statutory process applies, a valid counter-notice may be forwarded to the original complainant and material may be restored after the statutory waiting period unless the complainant reports filing an action seeking a court order.
