Origin and purpose
Delta Force appears from the opening modern crisis, when Team Ghost is diverted from leave and sent into Building 8.
Leadership and known members
Reed Beckham leads the original Team Ghost. Fitz later carries the unit forward. Other Delta-linked figures include Chow, Jinx, Team Titanium, and the black-armored Team Spartan operation.
Internal structure
Delta units function as small, deniable, elite teams built for classified missions. The apocalypse forces them into rescue, capture, escort, and extermination missions far beyond normal doctrine.
Book-by-book role
In the early books, Delta is Reed's world. By Extinction End, Delta and Marine survivors operate together in final-war teams. By Extinction Lost and Dark Age, Fitz's version of Team Ghost proves Delta culture has become an institution.
